Sandpipers in the Surf

On a beautiful sunny day, these sandpipers are busy with finding food in the floodline, always knowing when the wave is close nearby and running away incredibly fast on their small feet, just ahead of it.

In this painting the natural colours of the North Sea and their reflections were caught in active movement of the wave breakers. Meanwhile, the sandpipers are waiting for the water to retreat and pick their food.
